Reform Government Surveillance
Meta is a member of the Reform Government Surveillance Coalition (RGS), which urges the world’s governments to adopt surveillance laws and practices consistent with established norms of privacy and free expression and the rule of law.
United Nations Global Compact
In September 2021, Meta joined the UN Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. This marks an important stepping stone in Meta’s commitment to human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption. To take actions that advance societal goals, Meta has committed to the 10 Principles under the UN Global Compact and both public accountability and transparency on those commitments.
Global Network Initiative Public Assessment Report
As a member of the Global Network Initiative (GNI), Meta is independently assessed every three years. The GNI public assessment report summarizes the results of Meta’s 2018/2019 independent assessment, and the GNI Board’s finding that Meta had made good faith efforts to implement the GNI Principles with continuous improvement over time.
